Ence is also the first Spanish company in renewable energy production with low emission forestry and agricultural biomass. We have a generating capacity of 220 MW in our independent power plants, plus 112 MW in the cogeneration and generation plants of our pulp biofactories.

Our company is at the forefront in the use of this renewable source of energy, a solid, safe alternative energy, which contributes to improving the environment, and has a great potential for development in Spain. Alternative energy with great environmental benefits, reducing emissions and contributing to the transition towards a low carbon energy model.

We generate energy with low emission biomass in seven production plants: two in Huelva, two in Córdoba, one in Mérida, one in Jaén and one in Ciudad Real. These are power generation plants feeding exclusively from biomass of agroforestry origin from nearby environments, which contributes to reducing the burning of surplus by-products, and to reactivating agro economy.

These facilities will have the additional 96 MW currently being built by Ence in Huelva and Puertollano (Ciudad Real), whose entry into commercial operations is scheduled for the second half of 2019.
